Simple, Professional, Transparent Process
Below is a clear step-by-step overview of the process for creating custom marching band arrangements and compositions, from initial concept to final delivery.
1. Initial Consultation and Show Development
The process begins with a detailed consultation to define your project. We will discuss:
- Show concept and artistic direction
- Ensemble size and instrumentation
- Show length and competitive level
- Musical style and programming goals
- Writing fees and project scope
This step ensures the arrangement is fully customized to your marching band program’s needs and performance goals.
2. Agreement of Services and Project Deposit
Once all project details are finalized, an Agreement of Services will be provided for review and signature.
- Two authorized signatures are required:
- School-funded projects: Band Director and High School Principal
- Booster-funded projects: Band Director and Booster Organization President
The agreement will also outline a required deposit (down payment) before any composition or arranging work begins.
3. Copyright and Licensing Requirements (If Applicable)
If the project includes copyrighted music, arranging permission must be secured prior to starting any work.
- All copyright approvals must be obtained from the rights holder or publisher
- Any licensing fees are paid directly by the school, district, or booster organization
- No arranging work will begin until proper permissions are confirmed
This ensures full legal compliance for all custom marching band arrangements.
4. Composition and Arranging Begins
Once the signed agreement, deposit, and any required copyright permissions are received, the arranging process begins.
Your custom marching band music will be written specifically for your ensemble’s:
- Instrumentation
- Skill level
- Visual design needs
- Performance objectives
5. Review, Feedback, and Revisions
As each segment of the show is completed, you will receive:
- MP3 audio mockup
- PDF score for review
At this stage, you may request revisions. All reasonable adjustments during the review process are included at no additional cost to ensure the arrangement aligns with your expectations.
6. Final Delivery of Materials
Once a segment is approved, final materials will be delivered via email, including:
- Finalized PDF full score
- Individual wind and percussion parts
- MP3 reference recordings
All materials are formatted for efficient rehearsal use and performance preparation.
7. Post-Delivery Edits (If Needed)
If additional revisions are requested after final delivery, they will be reviewed and may incur an additional fee depending on:
- Scope of changes
- Time required for revisions
- Whether new score and parts must be generated
8. Final Payment and Project Completion
Once the full show is completed and delivered, the remaining balance is due.
Flexible payment arrangements may be discussed to accommodate school district or booster organization budgeting timelines.
V. PAYMENT
Options
We do offer flexible payment options. We realize that school districts and booster organizations have unique situations when it comes to budgets and timelines. Paying in installments is acceptable as long as we discuss it upfront and are made aware of dates needed.
What methods of payment are accepted?
P.O’s, check, or credit card are accepted.
For those School Districts and/or Booster organizations that are using a credit card for purchases, I am now set up to accept credit card payments. Debit cards will not be accepted. There is a service fee to receive payments by credit card. There will be a 3.2% fee of the total amount added.
